parent training
Current research suggests that children learn to communicate with the most significant people in their lives, mainly their parents, during everyday conversations and activities. During the day, parents have many opportunities to interact with and teach their child in meaningful settings. Current research proposes that children's communication improves when parents interact more with their child, respond to their child's attempts to communicate, and talk about what the child is focused on and interested in while using simplified, melodic speech. As a result, parents can have a significant impact in their child's progress and development.

Your therapist at SPEECH, Inc. will collaborate with you to use specific communication strategies at home and throughout the day that will help build your child's language. You will receive a customized home program to help you (and other family members) promote your young child's communication at home.
